Boss Rush in Auroma Park

Boss Rush is one of the limited-time event modes in Pokémon UNITE. In this mode, Five players team up to battle three Aeos-energized Boss Pokémon, each stronger than the last, and attempt to eliminate them all within five minutes.

So far, there have been two variations of this mode, Regigigas and Zacian, with the final Boss Pokémon fought varying between the two. The first Boss Pokémon is chosen from a pool of three possible Pokémon, while the second Boss Pokémon is chosen from two or three possible Pokémon. At the end of the mode, players earn points based on how well they performed. The number of points obtained depends on how long it took to defeat each boss, with more points being obtained the faster all of them were defeated. Earned points will be added to their individual score, earning the players themselves rewards, before being added to their Unite Squad point total, earning the whole Unite Squad rewards based on their rank of points the Squad has at the end of the event. Earned points can be increased by teaming up with members of the same Unite Squad.

Layout

It is set in Auroma Park at night, though the map has been reduced to a circular arena, with the base being adjacent to it. Sitrus Berries spawn regularly around the arena, healing a portion of health to allies when picked up. The boss spawns directly in the center of the map.

All players begin at the starting base, which leads to a conveyor belt that prevents them from going back to the base. As players fight the bosses that spawn, they are able to fill up a stun gauge that is visible under the Boss Pokémon's HP bar. This gauge is filled by using moves that have either a hindrance or binding effect. When it is full, the Boss Pokémon gets stunned for a short time and damage dealt to it is increased. When a Boss Pokémon reaches a certain threshold of their HP, they will become enraged and become more aggressive. This threshold depends on which Boss Pokémon is fought. The final Boss Pokémon will become enraged twice. In Zacian's case, the first time it becomes enraged, it will turn into its Crowned Sword form.

When the battle starts, the player's Pokémon will already be at level 3 and have access to their first two moves. Once the first boss becomes enraged, the Pokémon will immediately level up to level 5. Once the first boss is defeated, the Pokémon will level up to level 7. When the second boss becomes enraged, the Pokémon will then level up to level 9. After defeating the second boss, depending on whether the final Boss Pokémon is Regigigas or Zacian, the Pokémon will either level up to level 11 or immediately level up to level 13 respectively. When Regigigas becomes enraged, the Pokémon will level up to level 13, then they will level up to level 15 once it becomes enraged the second time. When Zacian turns into its Crowned Sword form, the Pokémon will level up to level 14, then they will level up to level 15 once it becomes enraged.

Individual Points

After the five minutes are over, the players will earn points based on how many bosses they defeated together, how long it took them to defeat each boss, and how high the level of difficulty it is. These points will be added to an individual point scale, and players will earn rewards based on how many points are earned during the event.

Unite Squad Points

Individual points will also be added onto the Unite Squad's total, changing the rank of the Unite Squad on the Boss Rush leaderboard. At the end of the event, the whole Unite Squad will earn rewards based on how high their rank is.

Boss Pokémon are split into three groups: Regular Boss Pokémon, Super Boss Pokémon and Hyper Boss Pokémon. Each Boss has a set amount of moves, with Regular Boss Pokémon having three, Super Boss Pokémon having five, and Hyper Boss Pokémon having seven.
