This is the prologue chapter of the Let's Play the Pokémon Card Game XY! manga. It was first published in the January 2014 issue of CoroCoro Ichiban!, released on November 21, 2013. It is four pages long.

Plot

After opening a pack of the new XY expansion, Manabu meets the Pokémon Card Game secret trick researcher Hiroshi Uratane, who explains the new Fairy type and how powerful the Xerneas-EX card Manabu pulled is. Along with that, Uratane alludes to the new Mega Evolution mechanic. Manabu is immediately interested and asks Uratane to teach him how to perform it. Uratane agrees and says he will teach Manabu the secrets to becoming strong at the Pokémon Card Game.
