Location of Fire Island in the Orange Islands

Fire Island (Japanese: 火の島 Fire Island) is an island in the central Orange Islands, featured in the second movie.

The Fire Island shrine

Fire Island is the southeastern one of the three elemental islands, and is the home of the Legendary Moltres. The island has a small volcano in the center of the island as well as a forest on one side of the island and rocky shorelines on the other.

Ash visited Fire Island first in his quest to fulfill the Legend Festival's Chosen One myth. He soon obtained the Fire Treasure, a glowing orb located in a small altar that overlooks a volcanic crater.

Lawrence III had already captured Moltres prior, but returned to Fire Island to capture Zapdos, which moved to Fire Island soon after to claim the area that Moltres had seemingly abandoned. Inadvertently, he also captured Ash, Misty, Tracey, Pikachu, Melody, and Team Rocket, whose boat was of similar size to the legendary birds, and brought them aboard his airship.

After Ash placed all three of island treasures at the Shamouti Island shrine, peace was restored and Moltres returned to Fire Island.
