High-Flying Seaside Holiday (Japanese: 海へぶっとびバカンス! Flying Off to the Sea for Vacation!) was a story event in Pokémon Masters EX. It was focused on the sync pairs Cynthia (Summer 2025) & Milotic and Skyla (Summer 2025) & Jumpluff.
The "Cynthia Seasonal Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Cynthia (Summer 2025) & Milotic for the duration of the event, and the "Skyla Seasonal Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Skyla (Summer 2025) & Jumpluff starting on July 2, 2025 and lasting until the end of the event.
This event featured event points, a currency that players could earn by completing battles. Players received rewards based on the number of points accumulated, including 5★ Scout Tickets, a Support Move Candy Coin, a 5★ Power-Up, and medals. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day.
The player could battle using Cynthia (Summer 2025) & Milotic or Skyla (Summer 2025) & Jumpluff to obtain +0.6× bonus points; Dawn & Turtwig/Grotle/Torterra, Mela & Armarouge, Gardenia (Summer 2024) & Dhelmise, Acerola (Summer 2024) & Jellicent, Tate (Summer 2023) & Jirachi, Liza (Summer 2023) & Celesteela, N (Summer 2022) & Zoroark, Hilda (Summer 2022) & Grapploct, Gloria (Summer 2021) & Inteleon, Marnie (Summer 2021) & Grimmsnarl, Lyra (Summer 2020) & Jigglypuff, or Steven (Summer 2020) & Sandslash to obtain +0.4× bonus points; and any unlisted Sinnoh or Unova sync pairs to obtain +0.2× bonus points.
This event featured the Battle Challenge, where players were challenged to defeat a team of strong opponents. Players could complete event missions by clearing these areas with one or fewer sync pairs fainting and sync pairs with specific theme skills on the team.
In addition, completing the final story area of the event would reward players with a special piece of artwork for the Trainer Lodge.
Plot
Busy Cynthia
Dawn spots Cynthia in the city and approaches her, not realising that the Sinnoh Champion was in the midst of discussing a tournament that will be held next week with two Ace Trainers. Dawn explains that she is going to hang out with Skyla and others next week and invites Cynthia to join them. Cynthia considers the offer, but ultimately declines because she has research reports on myths to handle on top of her duties as well.
Dawn recaps the events to Skyla, and later to Lear, Sawyer & Rachel, worrying that Cynthia has not been taking enough breaks. Lear supposes that she is invested in her work to the point she may never stop working, while Sawyer and Rachel raise their own concerns that Lear himself has been overzealous during his check-ins at Pasio Academy, in addition to managing Pasio. Seeing this, Skyla proposes that they all help Lear & Cynthia get some rest.
Everyone Gets a Vacay!
Dawn and Skyla meet up with Cynthia again, explaining that they want to give the latter a day off. With the Pasio Neo Champions covering her own Champion duties, Cynthia does realise that she can spare time to go on a break with them. Thrilled, Skyla takes her to go shopping for a vacation outfit.
On the day of the holiday, Skyla and Cynthia are dressed in their new outfits and arrive at Lear's private beach. Cynthia opts to go for a swim with her Milotic just as Caitlin arrives, teasing if the latter will be able to rest, which also brings back memories of Cynthia staying at Caitlyn's own Villa in Undella Town. While the three are chatting, Mela stumbles in nearby and spots the three, feeling a burst of creativity.
Leisurely Like Jumpluff
After Cynthia and Milotic complete their swim, Skyla offers them a drink. Cynthia ponders the, wile Skyla notes even panes & bird Pokemon need to make time to Roost eventually, before parting ways to pass out more drinks.
Up ahead, Gardenia is searching for buried treasure with her Dhelmise when Skyla unintentionally startles her. The former picks up on Skyla's Jumpluff and notes how a Grass-type Pokemon that soars in the sky is a good fit for her. Musing on the views a Jumpluff could see as they travel on seasonal winds, Skyla promises a flight in her cargo plane with Gardenia someday.
Meanwhile, Mela is still trying to pick up the courage to approach Cynthia when Skyla runs into her again.
Milotic, the Epitome of Beauty
Skyla brings Mela over to Cynthia, who is intrigued by her request for Cynthia and Milotic to model for her painting as a personal challenge to paint a beautiful sync pair. While Mela admits she was conflicted to ask Cynthia, seeing as she's on holiday, Cynthia's Milotic is pleased and accepts the request nonetheless. Before she starts, Mela asks Cynthia if she ever feels down when she fails, both as an archaeology expert and Pokemon Champion. Cynthia admits she does, but also concedes that her passion for her work and the fun times she had thanks to her friends, like this day off, are what allow her to stay strong even through tough times, a sentiment Mela can understand.
Enjoy it to the end
As Skyla takes a break herself, Dawn arrives with Caitlyn, Lenora, Elesa & Iris, who are intrigued to learn about Mela painting Cynthia & Milotic. Elesa compliments Skyla's outfit, while Lenora asks if she had gotten any rest. Skyla muses that, while shooting through the air like her planes and high-flying cannons is nice, she got to drift along like Jumpluff. She brings the group along to check out Mela's painting, which gets Mela high praise.
As the day concludes, Cynthia thanks Dawn for the day off, and in turn asks if there's anything she can do for them. Dawn rambles off a list, but concedes that all she wants is to spend more time with Cynthia, an offer Cynthia is more than happy to accept.
