The Hometown Muffin serves no purpose other than to complete Request 48: "The Taste of Home". It is obtained from Floaro after giving him 3 Hearty Grains, 2 Hopo Berries, and 1 Razz Berry. The item is immediately consumed by the player after obtaining it; it is unable to be viewed in the satchel or be interacted with in any way.

- The recipe Floaro uses to make the Hometown Muffin is similar to the recipe for the Jubilife Muffin, which instead requires two Hearty Grains as well as one Cake-Lure Base.
- The top of the Hometown Muffin resembles a modern-day Poffin. The same is also true for its successor, the Jubilife Muffin.
