Kihara Misaki

Kihara Misaki (Japanese: 木原 未沙紀) is a freelance illustrator who has worked with the Pokémon franchise. She began her collaboration as one of seven invited artists to contribute art for the Japanese publication Illustration, Issue 229.
Graduated from Musashino Art University in 2009, Kihara worked as a teacher at an art prep school before becoming a full time freelance illustrator in 2018. Since then, she has worked in book cover illustrations, advertising, and packaging among others. Her illustrations have a motif of plants and animals, many with classic fantasy themes, complex compositions and realistic brushstrokes.
