History
Pokémon Horizons: The Series

Hattrem debuted in The Lonely Hatenna as a Hatenna. While seeking shelter from the rain at Route 3, Liko, Roy, and Friede entered a mountain hut, where they found Hatenna lying unconscious in a crate. Worried for her health, Liko had Hatenna receive a medical examination from Mollie on the Brave Olivine. Mollie deduced that Hatenna wasn't ill, but just feeling down. Liko volunteered to look after Hatenna, but the Calm Pokémon kept running away while trying to avoid the strong emotions of the ship's various residents.
Eventually, Liko found Hatenna on the observation deck. Sensing how calm Liko was, Hatenna felt comfortable enough to jump into Liko's hood and fall asleep. The following day, Liko, Roy, and Friede took Hatenna back to where she was found and attempted to release her back into the wild. Just as it started to leave, Hatenna was stopped by Sprigatito, who convinced her to stay. Liko happily accepted Hatenna's decision and caught her with a Poké Ball received from Friede.
In Charge! Galar Mine!, Liko, Roy, and Friede encountered a Galarian Moltres belonging to Lucius at the Galar Mine. Sensing the Legendary Pokémon's rage, Hatenna shed a single tear. In the next episode, Liko used Hatenna's earlier reaction to Moltres to determine the Malevolent Pokémon was actually sad and come up with a strategy to calm it down. Later, after Moltres returned to its ancient Poké Ball, Hatenna jumped out of Liko's hood and located the mysterious Pokémon that emerged from Liko's pendant.

In The Stolen Treasure, Liko, Roy, and Friede met with Tepen in order to get information about the Ancient Poké Ball, but he tricked them then stole it. Hatenna realized too late Tepen's intentions, as she sensed his dark emotions, and failed to warn her Trainer about them. Fortunately, Liko and her friends found him out and then attempted to get the Ancient Poké Ball back from Tepen. After Liko and Sprigatito drove Tepen's Lampent's and Bronzor's attention, Hatenna noticed a shovel and used her Confusion to lift it in order to get the bag that the Ancient Poké Ball was in away from the Lamp Pokémon while Sprigatito made in an attempt to get it, but failed when Tepen showed up and had his Lampent grab it back by using Thief.
In The SOS is from Tandemaus?, Hatenna sensed what she believed was an injured Tandemaus and lead Liko and Mollie to it. After Mollie treated Tandemaus, Hatenna accompanied Liko and her friends to find Tandemaus's missing partner. Hatenna waited for Liko when she went to get the missing Tandemaus, but decided to take one of Chansey's eggs to Liko so she can treat it. Upon arriving, Hatenna discovered that the Tandemaus was actually a family of Maushold. Hatenna then learned Heal Pulse and healed the remanding Maushold without using Chansey's egg.

In Hatenna and the Otherworldly, Hatenna healed a group of Trainers who looked similar to Liko, Roy and Dot. Later, Hatenna helped Liko sense a group of Primeape and Annihilape, and watched her Trainer battle them. After two rampaging Primeape evolved into Annihilape, Hatenna came out of Liko's hood to try to calm them down, but got scared instead. Having enough of their fighting, she evolved into Hattrem and used her newly learned Brutal Swing to defeat the three Annihilape, and then healed them with Heal Pulse.
In Ice Battle! Cold-Eyed Grusha, Hattrem was Liko's second Pokémon to face Grusha in her second Tera Training test battle at the Glaseado Gym, substituting for Floragato after she had been temporarily withdrawn. While Hattrem was able to use Confusion to send Cetitan's Icicle Spear right back at it, she was soon overwhelmed and defeated, forcing Liko to send Floragato back out.
In Shine on, Terastallization! Liko vs. Roy!, Hattrem was the second Pokémon Liko used in her Tera Training Student Battle Tournament battle against Roy. She went up against Kilowattrel, whom she managed to hold back by using Confusion to thrown him around in midair. However, Roy managed to overcome this by using Uproar to break off her focus, and proceeded with a Spark attack which dealt a considerable damage to her. As she was about to get hit by another Spark, she activated her Healer Ability to cure Floragato's paralysis to let her handle the rest of the battle before being knocked out.
In Beyond the Shining Rainbow, the Rising Volt Tacklers battled the Black Rayquaza again after it was summoned to Area Zero. Hattrem teamed up with Floragato to strike him, succeeding when they helped Quaxwell cause a waterfall that temporarily stunned him. However, Rayquaza managed to resist and countered all of their attacks, defeating them along with Kilowattrel with Draco Meteor.
In HZ094, Hattrem was used to battle against a Laquium-enhanced Vileplume, assisting Roy's Lucario in doing so. Hattrem Terastalized for the first time and dealt good damage against Vileplume, but then hesitated as she wanted to help heal it instead of hurting it further, knowing that Vileplume was not in control of its actions. Hattrem then learnt Healing Wish to cure Vileplume of its Laquium effects, helping it to reconcile with its friends that it accidentally poisoned.
Personality and characteristics

Hattrem, as true to her species, can pick up the emotions of both people and Pokémon. When she was a Hatenna, she could be relaxed when she was around calm emotions, but could get overwhelmed when people or Pokémon show strong emotions, especially if they are arguing or enraged, and would run away whenever they expressed such feelings. In addition, Hatenna would pass out from exhaustion whenever she was overwhelmed by strong emotions. Despite this, Hatenna is a kind and caring Pokémon who's skills in picking up on the emotions of others has helped her friends find lost individuals and know if they have good or bad intentions. After evolving, she gained her species's usual trait of wanting to silence any strong emotions around her, even going as far as emerging out of her Poké Ball of her own volition to do so. However, she still retains her kindness by healing her opponents after defeating them.

As a Hatenna, Hattrem used to be shy and sensitive, and would initially hide away from interactions with people and Pokémon. However, she underwent a slight personality change ever since joining Liko's team, as she slowly opened up in interacting with others, as shown in Charge! Galar Mine! when she joined some wild Pokémon in the Galar Mine in eating snacks. This was shown again in As Long as I'm with My Friends, when Hatenna and her friends played with a wild Drednaw. Hatenna has also become comfortable around people, especially around Liko's friends, as she was fine being held in Orla's arms in Roar of the Black Rayquaza and greeted Ann in The Wild Pair, Friede and Cap!. Like her Trainer, Hatenna has shown a brave side, especially when it comes to protecting her friends. After evolving, Hattrem became much more confident in herself, and enjoys playing with other Pokémon much more than ever while she was a Hatenna.

Liko and Hattrem quickly bonded after meeting each other. As a Hatenna, she became unwilling to leave Liko's side when she attempted to return her to the wild. Her closeness to Liko was shown when she would rest or sit in her hood, although she would sometimes sit on her Trainer's shoulders, or be held in her arms. Part of the reason why Hattrem as a Hatenna felt safe around Liko is because she has a calm disposition, as well as the fact that she doesn't usually show strong emotions, such as sorrow or anger. Unlike Sprigatito, Hatenna doesn't seem to get jealous of people and Pokémon winning Liko's affection, as she knows that her Trainer cares about everyone, especially their friends, all the same. After evolving into Hattrem, she became sad that she couldn't fit into Liko's hood anymore, though she quickly accepted it. Hattrem also has strong faith in Liko, as she prevented Grusha from interfering in her Trainer's battle against Sidian in Infiltrating the System! Naranja Academy in Danger!.
Hattrem formed a close friendship with Meowscarada when both were still unevolved, as the Grass Cat Pokémon encouraged her to stay with Liko and immediately shook hands when they first became teammates. Hatenna also seems to feel safe around Sprigatito and would calm down in her presences whenever their Trainer wasn't around, and looks up to her like an older sister. Her closeness to Sprigatito was also displayed in Farewell, Sprigatito?, when she left the Brave Olivine with Terapagos to help Liko find her teammate, after she ran away. They maintain their friendship after they both evolved at different points. She also trusts Meowscarada and is impressed with her battling skills. She enjoys being in Meowscarada's arms as they journey with their Trainer. Hattrem even became very good friends with Pagogo, as she helps Liko and Meowscarada look after it, especially if both of them weren't around, even keeping it out of trouble. In addition, Hattrem seems to be on good terms with Charcadet.
Ever since the events in The SOS is from Tandemaus?, Hatenna came to admire Mollie's Chansey and looks up to her for her ability to heal Pokémon, even learning Heal Pulse in the same episode. Also, she would help Chansey in healing any of the Pokémon on the Brave Olivine, as seen in Into a New Sky! The Brave Olivine!. Although she is primarily a healer and doesn't do a lot of battling like her teammates do, Hattrem is a capable battler, able to stand her own ground if need be.
