Magyorō

(Japanese: マギョロウ Magyorō) is a character of the day who appeared in HZ097. He is a streamer who runs a Stunfisk-themed streaming channel known as (Japanese: マギョロウチャンネル Magyorō Channel).

History

In HZ097, Dot was called down to Levincia by Iono, who requested that she investigate a series of incidents where Pokémon were attacked in public by an unusually fast Stunfisk. Noting that wild Stunfisk aren't found in the area and a pink mist surrounding the victimized Pokémon, Dot concluded the culprit had a Trainer and was under the effect of Laquium. Later, after witnessing another attack, Dot chased the Stunfisk to a nearby alleyway and uncovered its Trainer, a young man named Magyorō. The boy explained he intentionally played pranks on people to make content for his streaming channel. He also revealed he was a product tester for Exceed, allowing him access to a Strong Sphere before they were released to the general public. Upon realizing that Dot was the Trainer who battled Iono during the Tera Training course, Magyorō challenged her to a battle, hoping that his victory would get him Iono's attention.

By keeping its distance and firing off supereffective moves from afar, Dot's Quaxwell initially had the advantage until Magyorō powered up his Stunfisk with his Strong Sphere. Stunfisk easily defeated its opponent, but as the battle continued, Magyorō started to noticed Stunfisk was progressively acting more aggressive than usual. Dot switched Quaxwell out for her Tinkatuff, and by boosting its newly-learnt Metal Claw with Terastallization, Tinkatuff emerged victorious.

Iono appeared on Dot's Rotom Phone to congratulate both Trainers on their battle. Magyorō apologized to Stunfisk for pushing it too far and promised to stop uploading videos. Iono suggested that he instead focus on trying to prank her specifically, stating that her surprised face would potentially go viral. Magyorō agreed and shattered his Strong Sphere after promising to never use it again. He then ran off declaring that he would one day successfully prank Iono.

Magyorō reappeared in HZ100, during a flashback.
