Blossom’s goal is to become a Pokémon League Champion! During a trip into the forest, she has a chance encounter with a Pokémon who will test her dreams.
Plot
In a small town, a girl named Blossom finishes scrubbing a set of dishes. She hastily runs over to her mother, claiming she finished all of her chores and asks for her permission to start her Pokémon journey. When her mother declines, Blossom complains that her friends have already gone on Pokémon journeys of their own and that both of her parents were also Pokémon trainers in the past. Just then, one of the bowls Blossom scrubbed earlier falls off and breaks, causing her mother to point to Blossom's flaw of "getting too preoccupied with one thing". She then heads off to work, much to Blossom's frustration.
Later, Blossom attempts to talk her father into talking to her mother, but he claims that only Blossom can convince her mother of her independence. Blossom remains stubborn, as she fully intends to become a Pokémon Champion like her father tried to become before he lost in the Galar League to an unspecified Trainer. The nearby Pidgey cuckoo clock strikes noon, indicating it is time to feed Char-ly. Blossom volunteers herself for the job to, where she notices some children already attempting to feed Char-ly. She attempts to push them away, claiming that she and Char-ly will travel together so that she can become a Champion. She commands Char-ly to use Fly and Flamethrower, but Char-ly is too exhausted to obey, causing the unimpressed children to walk away. Blossom angrily decides to travel out on her own.
Later, after glumly buying several Poké Balls and Potions at a Poké Mart, Blossom is seen failing to catch a Pikachu, a Pidgey, a Victreebel, a Pinsir, and a Slowpoke. By sunset, she only has one Poké Ball left. She hears branches snapping and notices a Nidoran♂ attempting to eat some Oran Berries. An Arbok then appears and stalks Nidoran, prompting Blossom to throw the Poké Ball at Arbok to save him. Arbok then breaks free and bats Nidoran away with its tail. Blossom then stands in front of Arbok to protect Nidoran, giving Nidoran to resolve to slam into Arbok, defeating it. Blossom then notices Nidoran's wounds and pulls out a Potion to treat them.
Afterwards, Blossom advises Nidoran to be careful, or he will end up in danger again. She recalls her own mother's words of caution, and realizes she and Nidoran are alike in that sense. Just then, an irate Nidoking and Nidoqueen appear. Blossom tries to reason with them to no avail, then leaves in fear, only to notice Nidoran chasing after her while holding her hat. The Nidoking and Nidoqueen eventually chase Blossom into the town, alarming local residents and causing several Trainers to engage them with a Dodrio, Rhyhorn, and Electabuzz. With the Trainers not listening to Blossom's explanation, and their Pokémon being overwhelmed by the Nidoking and Nidoqueen, Blossom decides to head to her home with Nidoran in tow.
Meanwhile, Blossom's parents are worried that Blossom has not yet returned home. When they see Blossom arrive and try to lecture her, a tremor occurs in the distance. Blossom once again calls on Char-ly's assistance, to which it eventually agrees, and flies off while Blossom rides it. Vowing not to hurt Nidoran's family, Blossom has Char-ly use Flamethrower and Fire Blast in the sky to calm everyone down. Blossom then reassures Nidoking and Nidoqueen that Nidoran is safe, and turns to leave. Nidoran instead chooses to stay with Blossom, which Nidoking and Nidoqueen agree to before leaving. Blossom's parents then arrive, after which Blossom apologizes for worrying them and thanks Char-ly for helping her. She then announces her decision to start her Pokémon journey with Nidoran; finally satisfied with her progress, her parents give her their blessings.
Blossom and Nidoran leave the following morning. Blossom's father then recounts the time he lost in the Galar League to his future wife and her Dragapult, but still felt humbled all the same. Blossom's mother recounts feeling humbled as well when she lost soon after. The scene ends with Blossom and her newly evolved Nidorino starting a battle against a wild Gengar.
