Pika Party

Mer Stadium during a Pika Party

Pika Party (Japanese: エブリバディピカピカフェス Everybody Pika-Pika Fest) is a quick battle on the Mer Stadium map in Pokémon UNITE. It is only available for selection during a Pika Party event. Pika Party is a 4 vs 4 battle, where almost every Pokémon on the field is a Pikachu. This applies to the wild Pokémon and the players' Pokémon, so everyone is playing as Pikachu or a Pokémon that evolves from Pikachu, and Pikachu appear as wild Pokémon.

Geography

For information about how Mer Stadium appears normally and for a description of the Battle Map's layout, see Mer Stadium.
Some Pikachu decorations
Battling against Gigantamax Pikachu

During a Pika Party, Mer Stadium is decorated with Pikachu themed items. The banners displayed across the edges of the field and on certain dividers are yellow or orange in color, many of which use Pikachu themed designs. Some of them display Pikachu's face, for instance, and others use Pikachu icons, lightning symbols, or just striking Pikachu art. Yellow and orange balloons are everywhere, and there is a larger Pikachu balloon at the base of each team. Pikachu holograms can be seen in the southern portions of the stadium. The goal zones have a Pikachu icon on the platform in place of the normal Poké Ball icon. Similarly, the icon in the Pit is replaced by a Pikachu icon surrounded by clouds based on the ones seen over Dynamax Pokémon.

When Gigantamax Pikachu is in play, the entire Battle Map is cast in a deep red tint from the unseen distortion above Gigantamax Pikachu.

Modified rules

The base in Pika Party

In this battle, the only eligible Unite Licenses are Pikachu and Alolan Raichu. Prior to the introduction of Alolan Raichu, character selection was entirely skipped and players started off by picking the Holowear to use. Unlike other game modes, players of the same team are consequently not bound to have different Unite licenses.

As with normal battles on Mer Stadium, each team only has three goal zones; two forward goal zones and one closer to their base.

While Surfing, Shocking, and Steely Pikachu largely replace Pokémon that have auras, the effects granted by these Pikachu do not stack. If a new buff is gained, the old buff immediately ends.

The attacks of Shocking and Steely Pikachu, as well as the G-Max Volt Crash of Gigantamax Pikachu, all use a pink circle to represent their range.

Pokémon

The wild Pokémon that appear in the battle are all Pikachu, with several variations of Pikachu appearing. Regular Pikachu appear as regular wild Pokémon, with Shocking Pikachu, Steely Pikachu, and Surfing Pikachu replacing Pokémon with auras. Defeating any of them grants a positive effect to the player who dealt the final hit.

Gigantamax Pikachu is the only objective Pokémon, appearing in the Pit at 2:30 and again at 1:00.

Surfing Pikachu
Four of these Pokémon are in the middle portion of the Central Area 4:40 Uses Surf. It charges forward, inflicting attack based damage and throw foes it hits. Ranged 4 Aeos energy normally.
6 Aeos energy during the Final Stretch
Defeating this Pokémon gives the player a buff that increases their movement speed and decreases the duration of hindrances that affect the player's Pokémon. This is indicated by waves that trail behind the player's Pokémon as they run.

Other Pikachu

Pokémon Location First Appears Respawns After Behaviors Basic Attack Reward

Shocking Pikachu
Can appear in the middle of the Top Path, the middle of the Bottom Path, and/or in two areas just outside the middle section of the Central Area. If a forward goal zone of one team is destroyed while the other team's forward goal zone on the same path is not destroyed, then instead of spawning in the center of that path, this Pokémon instead spawns where the destroyed goal zone of that path is. If the other team's goal zone of that path is destroyed after this change occurs the spawn point of this Pokémon remains biased toward the team whose goal zone was destroyed first. Steely Pikachu may appear in these locations instead of Shocking Pikachu. 4:40 Uses Thunderbolt. It zaps a circular area with electricity, inflicting attack based damage and leaving foes that it hits unable to act for a short time. Ranged 4 Aeos energy normally.
6 Aeos energy during the Final Stretch
Defeating this Pokémon gives the player a buff that causes their basic attacks to summon thunderbolts that strike the area around the Pokémon that gets hit. Thunderbolts briefly reduce the movement speed and basic attack speed of opposing Pokémon they hit. The buff is indicated by electricity arcing around the player's Pokémon.

Steely Pikachu
Can appear in the middle of the Top Path, the middle of the Bottom Path, and/or in two areas just outside the middle section of the Central Area. If a forward goal zone of one team is destroyed while the other team's forward goal zone on the same path is not destroyed, then instead of spawning in the center of that path, this Pokémon instead spawns where the destroyed goal zone of that path is. If the other team's goal zone of that path is destroyed after this change occurs the spawn point of this Pokémon remains biased toward the team whose goal zone was destroyed first. Shocking Pikachu may also appear in these locations instead of Steely Pikachu. 4:40 Uses Iron Tail. It hits in a circle around the Steely Pikachu, inflicting attack based damage shoving opponents that get hit. Ranged 4 Aeos energy normally.
6 Aeos energy during the Final Stretch
Defeating this Pokémon gives the player a buff that grants them a Shield at regular intervals. The shield is shown as a transparent silver sphere around the player's Pokémon.

Objective Pokémon

Pokémon Location First Appears Respawns After Behaviors Basic Attack Reward

Gigantamax Pikachu
Appears in the Pit at the center of the Central Area 4:00 2:30 (based on time the Pokemon spawned, not when it was defeated) This Pokémon does not move to chase opposing Pokémon. Uses Max Steelspike, which hits a rectangle leading away from this Pokémon. Uses Max Strike, which hits a circle underneath an opposing Pokémon. Uses G-Max Volt Crash, which strikes a much larger circle. Pokémon that get hit are paralyzed, reducing their movement speed. All three moves deal attack based damage. Ranged 20 Aeos energy normally.
30 Aeos energy during the Final Stretch
Defeating this Pokémon grants all members of the team that defeated it 15 Aeos energy. Additionally, all opposing goal zones become defenseless for 30 seconds. A thunderbolt will attempt to strike all Pokémon of the opposing team.
