PocketMonsters.net is a Pokémon fan site. The site notably hosted the PocketMonsters Fansubs group, which was active from 2008 to 2018.
Features
The site features Pokémon news, sections for the games, TCG, and animated series, among other features, such as image boards where users can freely upload images relating to various aspects of the Pokémon franchise.
Pokédex
The Pokédex section contains a list of every Pokémon with information about each species such as their types, stats, moves, Abilities, their names across different languages, as well as Pokédex entries, appearances and voice actors in the animated series, TCG cards, event distributions, and an image board.
Episode guide
An episode guide contains a list of seasons of the TV show, with sections for each season listing the titles of the episodes across languages. Episode summaries include a summary along with screenshots and the site's rating for the episode, which uses a 1-10 scale. Episode listings also include featured characters; clicking a character takes the reader to a detailed profile listing the character's names across languages, a list of voice actors, biographical info, their Pokémon, and what episodes they appeared in.
Media databases
The site also contains information about Pokémon DVDs and Blu-rays, listing each disc's title, release date, and publisher. Similarly, a song database lists many of the animated series songs plus their titles in other languages. There's also a CD database for the songs, including other language versions, release dates, the number of songs in each track, and ratings for the albums.
PocketMonsters Fansubs
PocketMonsters Fansubs is a fansubbing group that subtitled episodes of the Japanese Pokémon animated series in English.
The group started subtitling in 2008 with DP094, and they regularly subbed every episode from Pokémon the Series from that point up to 2017 with SM049. They also subbed the corresponding movies, trailers, and related promotional materials. Separate translators had subtitled earlier episodes, which were released on an irregular schedule.
Names of characters and Pokémon were kept in Japanese, while location names and the like were translated in a way that, according to the group, best represented the intention of the original name. If the official English games used a name that worked as a straight translation of the Japanese, this name would typically be used to lessen confusion. All Pokémon moves used their name from the official English video games.
The group has been inactive since November 2018, with their final release being SM091. No formal announcement was made about the group's discontinuation of their work.
