The Strength of the Master (Portuguese: A Força do Mestre) is a Brazilian Portuguese song about being a Pokémon Master. It was performed by Eliana, the presenter of the Eliana & Alegria TV show which broadcasted the Pokémon the Series animation in Brazil.

This was the second of the two Pokémon-themed songs featured in the 2000 CD album "Eliana", after The Strength of the Lightning. It was also released as a music video in 2003.

Lyrics

Brazilian Portuguese English
Para ser um grande Mestre Pokémon
Tem que ter coragem e ser muito bom
E a Equipe Rocket desafiar

Se a jornada é longa a gente aguenta
Pois eu sei que tem mais de 150
E a grande batalha vamos conquistar

Vem, vem, vem aqui comigo
Vem, vem, vem correr perigo
Vem, vem, que a hora vai chegar

Pokémon, Pokémon, quanta emoção
Pokémon, Pokémon, todo Pokémon
Tem magia e poder

Pokémon, Pokémon, temos que pegar
Pokémon, Pokémon, quando encontrar
Um grande Mestre eu vou ser

Vem, vem, vem aqui comigo
Vem, vem, vem correr perigo
Vem, vem, que a hora vai chegar
To be a great Pokémon Master
You have to have courage and be very good
And challenge the Team Rocket

If the journey is long we can endure it
Because I know there are more than 150
And the great battle we are going to conquer

Come, come, come here with me
Come, come, come run the risk
Come, come, because the time will come

Pokémon, Pokémon, so much emotion
Pokémon, Pokémon, every Pokémon
Has magic and power

Pokémon, Pokémon, gotta catch 'em all
Pokémon, Pokémon, when I find them
A great Master I will be

Come, come, come here with me
Come, come, come run the risk
Come, come, because the time will come

Music video

The music video features Eliana singing and dancing with backup dancers.

At the start, Eliana and her background dancers are running indoors. Meanwhile, a boy and a girl are separately running in the woods. The two children meet each other and start watching Eliana on their Game Boy Colors.

At some point, Eliana repeatedly throws CGI-animated Poké Balls with her stylized "E" logo at the direction of the viewer. Two of these Poké Balls are exit the Game Boy Color screens and start floating in the air near the boy and girl. Although two children were wearing regular clothes up to this point, the Poké Balls glow and suddenly cause them to be wearing cosplays of Ash and Misty.

While the song continues, the children are seen running in the woods wearing their Ash and Misty cosplays. The Poké Ball with the Eliana logo is often used as a screen transition between scenes. This Poké Ball is also sometimes seen floating by itself in the woods. A blue version of this Poké Ball appears as well during some of the screen transitions.

At the end, the boy and girl are seen back in their regular clothes as they finish watching the music video.

Production

The indoor scenes featuring Eliana with her backup dancers were recorded inside the Hebraica-Rebouças subway station in São Paulo, Brazil.
