Trivia
- Kabu and Ball Guy are the only Trainers from the Galar region whose English voice actors do not give them a British accent. In Kabu's case, this is likely a nod to the fact that he moved to Galar from Hoenn.
- All versions of Kabu use special voice-over lines upon entering a team that contains certain Trainers (regardless of their partner Pokémon). Those Trainers include Flannery, Milo, Nessa, Raihan, Leon, and Larry.
- Kabu also uses special voice-over lines upon winning a battle with Nessa, Raihan, Leon, or Larry in the same team.
Origin
Kabu's design is based on his appearance in Pokémon Sword and Shield. Centiskorch is Kabu's signature Pokémon in the core series games, where it also capable of Gigantamaxing. Centiskorch's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Sword.
Torkoal is Kabu's lead Pokémon when battling him at Wyndon Stadium. Torkoal's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
