Nemona is an energetic and fun girl who adores battling with Pokémon. As an experienced Pokémon Trainer, she is among the strongest Paldean trainers, ranked as a Champion, after moving to the region at the age of just seven.[1] Despite her skill, she is not very good at throwing Poké Balls. She serves as a guide for the player. She, along with the player, is enrolled in the general studies track of the NaranjaS/UvaV Academy, with her homeroom teacher being Jacq. Due to her love for battles, Nemona tries to squeeze in a battle at every moment she gets, and strives to have someone in equals with. Nemona occasionally drops Spanish words or a Spanish accent in her dialect in English, in reference to Paldea being based on the real-world country of Spain.
Along with the player, who Nemona begins a quick friendship with, Nemona also meets Arven and Penny over the course of Scarlet and Violet. She does not get along with the other two at first, often misunderstanding their viewpoints and clashing with their interests, but get along by game's end. Nemona has an admiration for stronger trainers, such as Geeta, the strongest member of Paldea's Pokémon League.
Nemona lives in the same hometown of Cabo Poco as the player, living in the same neighborhood. She is the daughter of one of the Rotom Phone company's board members, coming from a wealthier family. Her father, mother and older sister all go unnamed. Nemona's Student ID at the academy is 805C001.
Nemona is a young girl who attends Paldea's academy; due to the school changing based on what version is being played, so does her outfit. Her design otherwise relatively stays the same. Nemona has long black hair with most of it being tied in the back in the form of a ponytail. Three bangs stick out from her forehead, the two larger ones being a shade of green as opposed to her normal black coloring. She has large, angular eyes with orange irises and large black pupils. She has three eyelashes on each eye. Her angular eyebrows are thin and black
She wears a magenta arm brace on her right arm. This arm brace covers her knuckles and stops halfway up to her forearm. The bottom side is black and goes all around her arm up to her bicep. The magenta covering is stopped by a thick white cuff. Her shoes are the same colors as her arm brace, having a white back and soles, the upper half being mostly magenta and the tongue being white and black. She wears all-black leggings that go underneath her school shorts.
Nemona will always wear the summer attire of her school's uniform, sporting a short-sleeved T-shirt and shorts. The T-shirt has the school's emblem on her left sleeve. In Pokémon Scarlet, the shirt is all off-white tinted blue, with a collar that goes around the neck, topped with an orange necktie. A singular front pocket on the left side of her chest. Her shorts are orange with lighter orange stripes. These shorts have two pockets on both sides of her legs, with larger pockets underneath that stick out, buttoned together by blue buttons. She has two blue strings on the front of her pants. In Pokémon Violet, her shirt is gray instead and has a purple tie. her shorts also look nearly identical, with the blue buttons and strings being yellow and the pants themselves being completely purple with no pattern.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Background and pre-game
Website blurb:"Your friend, Nemona, has a sunny and energetic disposition, and she absolutely loves Pokémon battles. She’s an experienced Pokémon Trainer and serves as a reliable guide for you on your adventures. She has undisputed skill in battle—though it does also seem that she’s not the best at throwing Poké Balls."
Prior to the events of Scarlet and Violet, unlike previous rival and friend characters, Nemona is already a Pokémon Trainer and a Champion, and implies that she is starting fresh with a new team of Pokémon. She already attends the school that the player will attend to.
Victory Road
Nemona is first met in Cabo Poco, where she introduces herself as the player's neighbor. Despite being a Champion-ranked Trainer, she chooses to raise a new Pokémon team alongside the player to be more on their level, choosing the first partner Pokémon that is weak to the player's. After having her first battle with the player, the two set off to the city of Mesagoza to go to the Academy. The player has a troubling situation with KoraidonS/MiraidonV on Inlet Grotto, and returns to Nemona. Nemona is glad that the player is safe and brings them to a nearby lighthouse on Poco Path, where they meet Arven, a boy who seems to know about the Pokémon the player has found. After some clashing of heads and explanation of the player's new ride, Nemona escorts them to Mesagoza through Los Platos and gives them a tutorial on Pokémon Centers and the Terastal phenomenon in front of Mesagoza's doors. Inside the city, Nemona brings them to the school's stairs (which she seems to have a frustration with on account of being too long and steep) where the two of them will be studying. There, they encounter more strangers, Team Star, a group of students who bully other students, and Penny, a shy girl who also seems to butt heads with Nemona.
Once the player starts studying at the academy, Nemona urges them to challenge Gyms around Paldea so they can challenge the Pokémon League. Along the way, Nemona will occasionally appear to gauge the player's progress by battling them. Once the player has defeated all 8 of Paldea's Gyms, she becomes excited and awaits their progress at the Pokémon League. Once the player has passed the test and became a Champion-ranked member of the Pokémon league, Nemona is thrilled and wants to battle them immediately. The two of them think on where this champion themed battle should be held, deciding on Megagoza's battlefield in the middle of the city. Nemona loses to the player, but is filled with pride and excitement, happy to have such a fruitful battle against them. She asks for more, hoping the fun never stops.
The Way Home
Once the player has passed the Champion Assessment, Nemona will challenge them to one more battle, where she doesn't hold back. After the player has finished Victory Road and the two other stories, She later accompanies the player, Arven, and Penny on a journey to Area Zero, battling alongside the player as a battle partner to fight against any Paradox Pokémon they may come across.
In the post-credits story, Nemona participates in the Academy Ace Tournament, although she has to manage the admin work when it is held for the first time, she can be battled as a random opponent in subsequent Academy Ace Tournaments.
Mochi Mayhem
Nemona joins Arven and Penny to hang out with the player at their house. Later, they are invited to join the player in visiting Kieran in Kitakami. Upon their arrival, Nemona immediately challenges Kieran to a battle, having heard of his former status as BB League Champion, and though she wins handily, she is greatly impressed by his skills. Just then, Carmine arrives, performing a weird dance and not acting her usual self. Kieran is concerned by his sister's peculiar behavior, though Nemona and the others encourage him to stay positive. That night, Nemona stops by Peachy's to buy soda for the group and ends up unwittingly eating Pecharunt's toxic mochi before returning to the Community Center. During their race to find the remote for the TV display, Nemona eventually falls under Pecharunt's influence and wanders out of the Community Center, heading for Kitakami Hall and presumably infecting more citizens. The player and Kieran spot her and give chase, only to contend with Kieran's infected grandparents instead.
The player and Kieran later confront the controlled Nemona and Pecharunt itself at Loyalty Plaza. Realizing the player is the only one who can beat Nemona in battle, Kieran decides to back them up by holding off an approaching horde of possessed villagers. Meanwhile, the player fights and defeats Nemona, who retains a modicum of her battle-frenzied personality despite Pecharunt's control. After the player defeats and catches Pecharunt, Nemona and the others are freed from its influence, with Nemona believing her battle with the player to be a "crazy realistic dream" that she would like to have again. After spending some more peaceful time in Kitakami and battling Carmine and Kieran a dozen times each, the player, Nemona and the others return to Paldea.
Nemona uses the first partner Pokémon with a type disadvantage to the one the player chooses. As shown in the game's opening cutscene, she also owns a Combat Breed PaldeanTauros. She is never seen using him elsewhere, although she can trade one to the player in The Indigo Disk. She is also implied to have more Pokémon that are unseen by the player, as she became a Champion prior to her first battle with the player and repeatedly mentions needing to select a perfect team for her battles. The official website for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet claims that Nemona uses Lechonk and Smoliv, even though she is never seen using either of these Pokémon.[3][4]
First battle
Winning this battle is not mandatory. The player will not black out and the story will progress either way.
During this battle, both the player's and Nemona's Pokémon are prevented from scoring critical hits.
Upon the third unique interaction with Nemona in the League Club Room, she will trade a Paldean Tauros to the player in exchange for almost any Pokémon excluding Shiny, Legendary, or Mythical Pokémon.
Nemona is a supporting character in Pokémon Horizons: The Series. Introduced as a Champion of the Paldea region, Nemona quickly befriended Liko, Roy, and Dot despite her competitive nature.
Throughout the series, she often helped mentor Roy and served as a friendly rival to him.

Nemona has had one series of unique merchandise released exclusively for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, simply known as Nemona, drawn by kirisAki.
Nemona, Clavell, and Iono are the only characters in the League Club Room that don't trade to the player a Pokémon or a pre-Evolution of a Pokemon that they are seen using in battle, that being PaldeanTauros, Pawmo, and Magnemite, respectively.
The Pokémon that Nemona and Clavell trade, however, are references to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's opening cutscene, where she is seen with a Paldean Tauros and he with a Pawmi.
